Rocky Mountains
Throughout the year, Canada is one of the most visually stunning countries to visit.
In summer, the snow-capped mountains line the landscape allowing visitors and locals to hike, cycle, take road trips and explore. Cruises hug both coastlines on their way to Alaska or the Eastern Provinces and the Rocky Mountaineer trains meander their way through the Rocky Mountains between British Colombia and Alberta.
The journeys operate in both directions starting in either Vancouver or Seattle on the West Coast and Banff or Jasper in the Rockies. Your days are spent on board the train in either the Silver or Gold Leaf carriages – both extremely comfortable with meals served regularly and a wonderful interactive commentary from the Rocky Mountaineer team. The difference between the carriages is the view with the Gold Leaf carriage providing a dome ceiling and a outside viewing platform. Activities at both ends as well as car hire, accommodation and/or Alaska cruises are added into your package to make this an extremely memorable experience of between 3 to 20 days.
Always on alert for wildlife, the days fly by as the scenery takes your breath away and you sit on board and chat to like minded travellers enjoying fabulous Rocky Mountaineer hospitality. Be prepared to not lift a finger as everything is taken care of with meticulous precision.
